Summer reading – dream Java jobs at RecWorks

I’m back with headline news of some of the outstanding roles currently available at RecWorks. If you like what you read and are interested in finding out more, simply follow the links for full details and information on how to contact us with any questions or to apply.

In today’s post I’m featuring two very different opportunities with two very different companies. What the roles have in common is that they are awesome right now and they both have real potential to lead to even more awesome things in the future.

I’ll start with a senior role at the forefront of big data, data security and anonymisation that will interest Java developers who like solving deeply challenging technical problems .

Our client operates in the information security sector, a field that is presenting huge opportunities for growth following some high profile data leaks and the resulting EU rule changes around data security. Our client’s customers include global companies and tier1 banks and their products enable global clients to safely analyse and mine sensitive data sets without compromising the individuals right to privacy.

Their expanding development team is meeting the technical challenges involved in building brand new products using the latest technologies with leading edge algorithms to understand and effectively tackle complex big data security and anonymisation problems. Members of the team typically have expertise in core Java, big data, algorithms and maths.

Please do check out the full details online to see all the requirements and benefits of this rare opportunity. For now I’ll just tell you that essential requirements are a degree in Computer Science/Engineering and proficiency with Java8, Threading and Concurrency, TDD, Test Automation, CD and Big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop.

Next we have a rather special opportunity for a senior full stack web developer. This job is based in London, but there are regional offices world-wide. How does the possibility of working in Dubai, New York or Melbourne in the future appeal to you?

The company is a leader in automated pedestrian analytics and insights. In a nutshell, they help busy places (like airports) to run more smoothly, more efficiently, and more profitably. They show their customers what’s going on where, in real time, to help operators act decisively both in the moment and for the longer term. Their use of live analytics, as opposed to the limitation of infrared, puts them ahead of the competition and at the forefront of the technology. As a result the company is growing quickly and that’s why they are adding to the team.

They are looking for someone to join the web development team in making real contributions to the green field platform build, as well as supporting other technical teams. The role involves developing full stack web applications and tools including analytics dashboards, reporting, administration and diagnostics, and they definitely want someone who is willing to bring their own ideas to the work. If you are interested and happy to work in a start-up, you’ll need four years’ experience of working with JavaScript and to have used Angular 2 and Node.js for at least a year too.

Some of the most enticing benefits are flexible working hours, share options (once you have completed the probation period) and the opportunity to work in a close knit, sociable team.

Check out the full details and apply on our website.

And if neither of these roles is your dream job…
