PROJECT CHALLENGES
I am currently recruiting for an exciting travel company who are really starting to make their mark on London. They are currently looking for mid level Java developers.
They allow all of their engineers to be the masters of their own destiny.
The development teams are continuously delivering new features in a fully automated test and deploy environment. Currently the agile teams work closely together to deliver web APIs with state-of-the-art technology like: Elasticsearch to analyse terabytes of data daily, Cassandra database to optimize for reads and scale, Couchbase cache clusters, hystrix circuit breakers, microservices and cloud deployments.
The London based team is currently focused on building external connectivity APIs and green-field applications, and they are using state-of-the-art Java technologies, like Java 8, Spring Boot and Reactive programming with Java RX. There is a real opportunity for you to work with the most cutting edge technology. They like their developers to suggest new technologies to use and experimenting with new technology is something that they all do. There is a lot of freedom to chose technology. They deploy to production at least 5 times per week.
COMPANY CULTURE
They have an excellent engineering culture, which includes having their own hack days up to 5 times per year. They have a startup mentality so although you have the security of them being more established, and they are very tech centric.
They are a global online travel company, who are headquartered in Europe and over the last two years they have been establishing an engineering team in London. They have operations in 37 countries. They are the market leader in several countries and are growing rapidly on all continents. Their mission is to inspire and guide people through their travel journey.
They have doubled their revenue the last 2 years running and they are tipped to continue this trend.
There are personal training and conference budgets and a massive perk of working for them is that they pay for everyone’s zone 1 travel which is about £130/month on top of your salary (even if you don’t travel on public transport you still get this travel bonus.) They are a very forward thinking and flexible business.
