Our client are a Silicon Valley headquarted, well established SAAS tech company with new offices in London driving European growth of their product.

They work a 37.5hr working week, flexible working hours (be in for stand ups at 10/11am), Some opportunities for remote working too.

This is a senior Engineering Manager role working on their flagship product. Initially you would lead 3 onsite scrum teams of 4-6 engineers with the potential to acquire 1 more and then scale the team later in the year. They’d like someone with business acumen, a strong people manager and someone who’s adept with managing internal and external stakeholders who can champion the product vision.

They are moving from a large scale monolithic Java application to a target micro-services architecture with Java8, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, AWS back-end with ReactJS and GraphQL front end. You would be tasked with leading multiple scrum teams, promoting engineering best practices, ensuring developers are well managed, trained and motivated. You’d work alongside the Head of European Engineering and a technical architect heavy influence on the technical direction of the overall platform. They’re looking for a strong coach who can lead and mentor other senior engineers and help promote TDD, although the role is predominantly hands off, this will suit someone who is not removed from technology.

The role has some interesting planned progression alongside the recruitment of new scrum teams later in the year. You’ll also be involved in the upskilling of Lead Engineers to become more of a middle management layer.

Package Details:

£100-110k base salary
20%+ Guaranteed bonus
Stocks (60-80% of base salary)
