PROJECT CHALLENGES

They’re looking to hire a hands on Fullstack Technical Lead to work with a small team of 3. You would be hands on with a deep technical involvement across the fullstack from backend Java8, Spring, Dropwizard, Docker and AWS to a JavaScript/Angular based front end. You’d have ownership of technical strategy, advising around the design and architecture of the platform and new features whilst also implementing coding best practices. The role would involve some hands on development in the early stages, you’d be expected to hold code reviews, mentor developers and help scale the team. Overall you would work with the Cheif Architect and CTO whilst having a heavy influence on the technical direction of the overall platform.

COMPANY CULTURE

A fintech startup that lets ordinary people invest in socially responsible businesses and projects (like renewable energy infrastructure) and earn a decent return on their money. They’re 5 years old, the company are now 16 in size and looking to scale over the next 12 months to around 25. They’ve essentially built a peer-to-peer investment platform in Java. The team has described their approach as pragmatic but playful with technology, they’ll actively research new ways of doing things and bring it in to product if it works best, they’d provide an autonomous and flexible working environment – flexi-hours are the norm with a license for occasional working from home. The culture is friendly, relaxed and collaborative.
