Big Data Software Developers, £60-£80k (Spark/Hadoop/Java/Machine Learning)
Our client company operate in the information security sector, their products essentially enable global clients to safely analyse and mine huge sensitive data sets without compromising the individuals right to privacy. Due to recent EU rule changes around data security off the back of some high profile data leaks, companies are now forced to assess their protection in this area, They have global companies using their products which utilise the power of big data and machine learning to create a data analytics security safety net.
You would join a small, bright team with expertise in areas such as core Java, big data, complex algorithmic design and improvement, Spark/Hadoop and clean coding methods. They’re building brand new products that expose them to deeply challenging technical problems, using the latest technologies with leading edge algorithms to understand and effectively tackle hard big data security and anonymisation problems. Development is done in Core Java and a little bit of Python, which all sits within a data agnostic Spark and Hadoop platform.
They’re partnered with some well known cloud based services providers and are led by a well renowned CTO in the big data space. They follow clean coding practices, their developers are focused on the product rather than the project, leading to an environment where code quality is paramount.
Expertise in Core Java
Computer Science/Engineering, Maths or Physics Academics
Good understanding of data structures, algorithms and concurrency
Deep interest or experience in big data technologies – Spark/Hadoop/HBase etc
Experience in clean coding practices and modern coding methods – TDD, Continuous Delivery, AWS, GAE, CloudFoundry etc
